As part of the INTERREG IPA CBC Croatia - Bosnia and Herzegovina - Montenegro 2014 - 2020 project Fortitude, a new external multimedia totem was officially installed in the area of the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Karlovac. The lead partner of the project is Public Cultural Institution Fortress of Culture Šibenik with partners the City of Karlovac, the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Municipality of Bar and the City of Banja Luka.
The main objective of the project Fortitude is to develop and improve supporting tourism facilities at historic fortresses and to create joint cultural events that will increase tourism attractiveness of the area and preserve the cultural heritage. Through this project, the City of Karlovac gets a number of new facilities in the Old Town of Dubovac, which includes new multimedia solutions for visitors, equipment for events, and thematic tourist trails on the Karlovac fortification heritage.
In order to improve the tourist offer based on heritage in historical fortifications, the City of Karlovac, as part of the Fortitude project, decided to set up an external multimedia totem in the area of the National Shrine of St. Joseph.
Deliver a quality, visually impressive, and at the same time cost-effective solution in the form of a multimedia totem that will be well noticed and accepted by visitors to the shrine. It was necessary to take into account the specific location where the equipment is placed, the planning of the power supply, the setup of the multimedia management application, etc.
The solution needed to be equipped with a package of centrally managed multimedia applications, and in the creative part of the project it was necessary to develop visual content and design user interfaces.
With the application of our products: PandoPad® Manager, PandoPad® Applications and PandoPad® TOTEM units, all interactive services necessary for informing and presenting the Fortitude project have been realized. The multimedia totem solution is centrally managed, and allows administrators to easily update the content at any time.
Interactive digital totem in the area of the National Shrine of St. Joseph offers various educational information about the Fortitude project and entertainment-tourist content about the Old Town of Dubovac.
The housing of our totem units is of a modern, attractive appearance, specifically designed for outdoor installations and easy placement. The screens use the most modern technology, they have high brightness, and they easily fit into the space.
In order to extend the life cycle of external interactive totems as much as possible, we have put special emphasis on different levels of security. Some of these include resistance to vandalism, various levels of protection against fluid ingress (IP testing), impact resistance rating (IK rating), proper cleaning and maintenance, etc.
