Outdoor interactive kiosk for the Municipality of Konjšćina

As part of the project of modernization and digitalization of municipal services, the Municipality of Konjšćina has equipped itself with a modern interactive multimedia kiosk that provides all the important information about the area and offers various multimedia content.

The interactive kiosk is located on the newly renovated Franjo Tuđman Square next to the newly built fountain of a unique shape inspired by the church architecture. The main square is also the central place of the municipality for the organization of various cultural events, and now offers information about municipal services, news, events, tourist offer, etc.

Background

The Municipality of Konjšćina has decided to initiate a project to improve information about municipal services, news, events, and the tourist offer. To make it, the municipality decided to set up an outdoor interactive tourist multimedia kiosk with a variety of interactive applications and content.

Challenge

The challenge was to deliver a quality, visually impressive, and at the same time cost-effective solution that will be recognized and accepted by visitors as well as the tourist board and its partners, local providers, caterers, etc. Due to the location, outdoor unit has to be resistant to all continental microclimatic conditions.

Our approach

We delivered a set of centrally managed multimedia applications for the totem. Also, for the creative part of the project, it was necessary to study the services and tourists offer of the Municipality of Konjšćina, create visual content, and design user interfaces. Finally, with the cooperation of the municipality, we were provided with the optimal prerequisites for physical installation.

Solutions

With the help of our products: PandoPad® Manager, PandoPad® Applications, and PandoPad® TOTEM, all interactive services necessary for information, entertainment, and advertising have been realized. The totem unit has two screens, one is an interactive touchscreen and the other one is a non-interactive LED panel. The technologically modern screen with a support for high brightness, indeed dominates the spot.

The modern multimedia totem is easily recognized in the central square, and it becomes the main point of information and advertising in the city.

Visitors have the opportunity to try out various fun and interactive applications such as putting together a puzzle with local motives, sending a postcard, browsing tourist brochures, reading a local newspaper, etc.

Interactive content is created and managed from our PandoPad® Manager system which is easily accessed via a web browser. It allows turning on and off individual PandoPad applications and contents, managing all multilingual text content, images, photos, videos, display schedule, etc.

The example shows the PandoPad® Outdoor Way Finder application as a geo map. From PandoPad® Manager, one enters the points of interest (POIs) on Google Maps, which will then display more detailed information about the selected point, or the path from where the PandoPad totem is located to the selected point.
