Multimedia kiosk for the Tourist Board Šibenik

The Tourist Board Šibenik has started an initiative to improve the quality of tourist information to promote certain elements of the tourist destination such as natural beauty, cultural and historical sites, various entertainment facilities, but also numerous events. As part of the initiative, the City of Šibenik decided to build a new Tourist Information Center on the Šibenik waterfront.

The city of Šibenik has the greatest tourism potential in Šibenik-Knin County. The city constantly works on preserving its natural and cultural-historical potential and heritage, as well as tourist facilities that meet the requirements of everyone who visit this special city. Therefore, the city of Šibenik needs to provide a central place where visitors can get quality information about the destination.

Background

The Tourist Board Šibenik has decided to initiate a project through which the tourist offer will be improved. Therefore, the decision was made to set up a multimedia kiosk with various interactive applications and content.

Challenge

Deliver a quality, visually impressive, and at the same time cost-effective solution in the form of a multimedia kiosk that will be noticed and accepted by visitors as well as by the tourist community and its partners, local providers, caterers, etc.

Our approach

The solution had to be equipped with a package of centrally managed multimedia applications and in the creative part of the project, it was necessary to study the tourist offer of the City of Šibenik, develop visual content and design user interfaces.

Solutions

One PandoPad® FLOOR 32 “unit located in the tourist information center was delivered. Finally, the PandoPad® Manager system and the PandoPad® Applications package were delivered as a central place to manage all content.

The modern freestanding multimedia kiosk with a 32 "touch screen fits nicely into the space, and becomes a focal point of information and advertising in the city. The housing has a modern, attractive design intended for indoor installations. With its spaciousness, it allows easy placement of hardware units.

Interactive content is created and managed from the PandoPad® Manager system which is easily accessed via a web browser. It allows you to turn on or off the display of individual PandoPad applications, manage all multilingual content, images, photos, videos, display schedule, etc.

In this example, we see the PandoPad® eCard Selfie application through which users can select one of the offered images, insert a photo of their face and send a virtual / digital postcard from the city of Šibenik using the integrated e-mail system.

In addition to general information about the tourist destination and accommodation, visitors have the opportunity to explore Šibenik and its surroundings through many interesting applications. Thus, it is possible to learn something about the most visited attractions of Šibenik, city events, take a look at various videos and pictures, digital brochures, etc.
