Multimedia info kiosk for the Tourist Board Đakovo

The city of Đakovo, which is also known as a "Heart of Slavonia", offers various historical, cultural and natural beauties to tourists. That is why the Tourist Board Đakovo has decided to set up a new multimedia info kiosk in the city center that will provide all the important information about the city with various multimedia content.

The multimedia info totem is located on Josip Juraj Strossmayer Square, which is part of the old town where many sacral buildings are located, which make this city recognizable and unique. The main square is also a central place for the organization of various cultural events, tourist attractions, and it provides information services for locals and tourists. Placing a totem on this location is the best way to present the offer and information about the city to visitors.

Background

The Tourist Board Đakovo has decided to initiate a project through which information about the tourist offer of the city will be significantly improved and modernized. Therefore, the city decided to set up an outdoor interactive tourist multimedia kiosk with a variety of interactive applications and content.

Challenge

The challenge was to deliver a quality, visually impressive, and at the same time cost-effective solution that will be recognizable and accepted by visitors as well as the tourist board and its partners, local providers, caterers, etc. Due to the location, outdoor unit has to be resistant to all continental microclimatic conditions.

Our approach

We delivered a set of centrally managed multimedia applications for the totem. Also, for the creative part of the project it was necessary to study the tourist offer of the City of Đakovo, create visual content and design user interfaces. Finally, with the cooperation of the Tourist Board, we were provided with the optimal prerequisites for physical installation.

Solutions

With the use of our products: PandoPad® Manager, PandoPad® Applications and PandoPad® TOTEM, all interactive services necessary for information, entertainment, and advertising have been realized. The totem unit consists of an interactive touchscreen that contains different applications. The technologically modern screen with a support for high brightness, indeed dominates the spot.

The modern multimedia totem is easily recognized in the central square, and it becomes the main point of information and advertising in the city.

Besides general information about the tourist destination, accommodation, and gastronomic offer, visitors have the opportunity to explore Đakovo and its surroundings through many interesting applications. Thus, it is possible to explore different events and attractions such as museums, theaters, concerts, sports, etc. In addition, visitors will be able to look through various brochures, send a postcard, view pictures and videos, and explore the surroundings of the city itself.

Interactive content is created and managed with the use of our PandoPad® Manager system which is easily accessed via a web browser. It allows turning on and off individual PandoPad applications and contents, managing all multilingual text content, images, photos, videos, display schedule, etc.

In this example, we see the PandoPad® eCard application through which users can select one of the images and send a virtual / digital postcard from the city of Đakovo using an integrated e-mail system.
